The myFirst 3dPen Artist uses PCL filament, a safe and biodegradable plastic commonly used in 3D printing. Compared to other filaments used in 3D printing, PCL melts at a lower temperature. This makes it ideal for 3D pens, as the pen itself doesn't need to get extremely hot.

Is the filament hot when it comes out of the pen?

Our PCL filaments vary in temperature but do not burn the skin, but we do not recommend touching the plastic within 5 seconds of it coming out of the pen.

Can I draw on skin?

We do not recommend drawing directly on the skin with any 3D Pen as there is the possibility of burns, even if PCL filaments do not get too hot.
